Don't know if you have ever heard of it (www.myoneword.org), but the idea is to come up with one word and to change to become more like that one word. I'm not explaining it well. Instead of coming up with 1, 2, or 5 resolutions, come up with one word to change towards. I'm going to try and come up with my one word.
step 1: DETERMINE THE KIND OF PERSON YOU WANT TO BECOME
What about the condition of your heart? What about the person that God Himself has created you to be?
Well, I do want to read the Bible more, pray more and live more like Jesus would if he were here.
step 2: IDENTIFY THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THAT PERSON
Is that person gentle? Is that person generous? What are the qualities of the person you want to become?
Yes and yes. Loving, putting others needs before their own, kind, generous, humble, not angry,
step 3: SIMPLY PICK A WORD
Well, I don't have a word yet, but while writing this post I came up with a verse and instead of just reading that verse on Bible Gateway, I read it in context, then i decided to see the whole chapter. Philippians 4 is a great chapter and it really is what I would like to do this year. So, I'm going to memorize this chapter of the Bible...maybe a word will come to me eventually.
I'm tired of driving alone in my car and getting mad because of some other driver. I choose the way I react to it. I want to choose something different than anger and yelling, I want to be able to let it go. So, Philippians 4 is my chapter for this year. I'm going to memorize the whole thing before the end of the year. Check it, there's some great stuff in that chapter!
Way to go Kristine! The rate at which you are losing weight is a healthy one.
